Will there be other guests staying when I stay?

Preston is exclusively yours.

Can children stay?

We welcome minors of any age. Highchair and travel cot available.

Can I bring Pets?

Yes,pets are welcome, but do not have the run of the main house.

Do you have smoking rooms?

We operate a nosmoking policy throughout. Using electronic cigarettes is not permitted inside Preston House. There is a private smoking area in Preston’s courtyard.

Do you have cycle storage?

Bikes can be stored in the stables in Preston’s private back garden, alternatively, the bikes can be stored in the backentrance hall of the house.

We would request guests an approximate arrival time. Rooms are ready by 3pm.

Cancellation & No show
  • No cancellation charge if a booking is cancelled 7 days before your date of arrival.
  • In the event of a cancellation less than 7 days before arrival, the total cost of the first night will become payable.
  • On minimum stay periods the full amount will be liable for payment. A
    2-night minimum stay applies some weekends. A 3-night minimum stay applies at event or bank holiday weekends. In the event of a No-show/Non-arrival, the whole amount of total stay booked will be charged.
  • No shows will be charged at full cost.

About the Location

Preston House is close to the famous and medieval Rock of Dunamaise, Emo Court and Parklands, Timahoe Round Tower, Heywood Gardens, and only up the street 200m from the Preston is theAbbeyleix Heritage House and Museum showcasing all the amazing history of our town. Founded in the 18th century, the town is home to a large range of historical structures, from ancient ringforts, burial grounds and churches, to beautiful estate houses and the town once had a carpet factory, which produced some of the carpets used on the Titanic. The town also offers several shops and pubs, including Morrissey’s, one of Ireland’s finest and best-loved pubs. Heritage House is a heritage center which provides visitor information and an exhibition on the county’s history and local attractions. It also provides guided tours of the museum and runs workshops throughout the year. Original antique carpets and vintage costumes are on display, alongside archaeological and historical artefacts, while the enclosed playground on-site has attractive wooden play equipment with a maritime theme, to tie in with the Titanic connection. Slieve Blooms 32km; Rock of Dunamaise 18km; Castlecomer 11 miles; Kilkenny33km. The town of Abbeyleix lies in the south of County Laois, not far from the border of County Kilkenny. Abbeyleix is a wonderful base to explore Laois, Kilkenny, and the rest of the South East.
