Preston House is located on Main Street in the heritage town of Abbeyleix, County Laois, in the heart of Ireland’s Midlands and within easy reach of Dublin, Cork and Kilkenny.

Do you have accessible guest rooms?
We have an accessible bathroom on the Ground Floor. Unfortunately, due to the fact that the building is a protected structure, we are unable to provide bedrooms with accessibility needs. However, on occasion we can set up a downstairs bed in one of the drawing rooms for a group stay.

Yes. Whether you are hosting a workshop, running a class or planning a one-off gathering, Preston House offers elegant rooms available to hire by the hour, day or weekend.
Do you have parking?
There is free parking on the road outside the premises. Potentially off street parking if required
What credit cards do you accept?
We accept AmEx, Visa, MasterCard, Diners Club, JCB, Maestro, Discover, UnionPay and cash payments. Online payments are available.
Do you have smoking and non-smoking floors?
Preston House is non-smoking.
How many guests can Preston House accommodate?
The house comfortably accommodates up to 14-16 guests, with additional beds available on request, allowing a maximum capacity of up to 20 guests for group stays or exclusive house hire.
Can Preston House be booked for exclusive use?
Yes. Preston House can be booked privately for family gatherings, retreats, celebrations or small events, giving guests exclusive access to the house and all six suites.
Please note: bookings intended for events such as celebrations, hen parties, workshops or organised gatherings must be arranged in advance and confirmed directly with us. This allows us to ensure the house is prepared appropriately for your stay.

Abbeyleix is a charming heritage town surrounded by woodland walks, historic sites, cafés and traditional Irish pubs. Nearby attractions include Abbeyleix Bog, Emo Court and the Slieve Bloom Mountains.

Is there a kitchen available for guests?
Yes. Guests are welcome to use our fully equipped country kitchen, where you can prepare simple meals, snacks or enjoy a relaxed cup of tea during your stay.

Preston House is a boutique Georgian guesthouse with six individually designed suites, offering a relaxed and welcoming stay in a beautifully restored historic house.
Can I store my luggage for the day once I have checked out of the guesthouse?
Yes, we are happy to provide complimentary luggage storage.
What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-in is from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
Check-out is between 8:00 am and 11:00 am.
If you need to arrive earlier or leave later, please contact us in advance and we will do our best to help.
Do you provide breakfast?
Self-cater help yourself in the kitchen. We supply tea, coffee, milk, cereal, bread and all basic self-cater supplies.
Can I request an early arrival or late check-out?
We are happy to facilitate early arrival or late check-out when possible. Please contact us.
What is your cancellation policy?
We have different cancellation policies depending on the kind of stay (full house hire or single room). Please contact us if you need to cancel and we will do our best to help.
Do you have wireless high speed internet access?
Yes, Preston House offers wifi. It is available in some rooms, free of charge.

Local voltage is 220 to 240 volts AC.
Is parking available?
Yes. Free public parking is available along the street outside Preston House, so guests can easily park nearby during their stay.
